Help Design Health Services for Older Patients

Newsdate: 30 October 2015

NHS Wigan Borough Clinical Commissioning Group is reviewing the health services that are delivered to patients over 50 and they need your help.

The population of Wigan Borough is changing. In the next 20 years, there will be over 30% more people over the age of 65 which will mean more demand for NHS services. We want to make sure that as people age, they age well and safely remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible. To be able to meet this increasing demand on services, make our services sustainable and improve the quality, the services need to change.

To make sure that changes to services are in the right way that meets the needs of patients, NHS Wigan Borough Clinical Commissioning Group want to know what you think of current NHS services and hear your ideas on how they can be improved. They are holding a public consultation until 4th December to make sure that all residents get the opportunity to design the services they use.

As part of the consultation NHS Wigan Borough Clinical Commissioning Group are holding two public meetings. Please come along to find out more and have your say.

The meetings will be held at:

  • 6pm on 3rd November, Wigan Library, Wigan Life Centre North, Wigan
  • 11am on 17th November, Turnpike Gallery, Leigh
