Michael Eshiett has been a Consultant Physician in Neurological Rehabilitation at WWL following his appointment in September 1995. He is also an Honorary Consultant Physician in Neurological Rehabilitation at Salford Royal Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Hope Hospital.
He qualified in Medicine from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria, and trained in General Internal medicine, Neurology, Neurosciences, and Rehabilitation Medicine at the Edinburgh Post-graduate School for Medicine; Institute of Neurology - Queen Square, London; Roehampton Institute /University (Neurosciences); London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Guy’s hospital London and St. George’s Healthcare NHS Trust, Tooting, London, as a Senior Registrar.
Michael helped to establish the specialty of Rehabilitation Medicine in the Northwest of England, having served as the Regional Chairman of the British Society of Rehabilitation Medicine from 1997 until 2001 and the RCP London Regional Specialty Advisor during the same period. He is also an examiner in Part 2 MRCP (Ireland) amongst others. He set up and led an excellent Stroke service in WWL since 1997 until 2002.
