Mr Mars was appointed a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at WWL in 1996. Since that time he has developed a specialist service in squint surgery and children’s eye problems. More recently he has taken over as lead clinician for the management of Glaucoma as well.
As well as his specialist services, Mr Mars offers a full range of general ophthalmic services. In particular he performs a large number of cataract operations.
Mr Mars regularly tutors medical students, Orthoptic students and newly qualified opticians.
Mr Mars operates in both Wigan and Leigh. He has theatre sessons on Mondays and Thursdays. He also holds clinics in both Wigan and Leigh and these are held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday of each week.
