He developed an interest in pelvic and acetabular trauma working with the North West Pelvic and Acetabular Trauma Service based at Wrightington Hospital.  Amol completed a fellowship in the specialist hip and knee arthroplasty unit, and pelvic and acetabular trauma unit at St Georges Hospital London.

Amol joined WWL as a consultant in 2014 as part of the team who provide the regional pelvic and acetabular fracture service. He also works at the North West Major Trauma centre in Preston to undertake general and specialist trauma surgery.  His interest in trauma extends to reviewing trauma services nationally for NHS England.

In his elective work Amol concentrates on problems of the hip and knee. He performs primary hip and knee replacements for arthritis and other problems including trauma and deformity. He undertakes revision hip replacements in patients with problem implants for reasons such as loosening, infection and fracture. He also has an interest in soft tissue injuries around the hip and routinely performs arthroscopic knee surgery.

In addition Amol is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the Salford University.

Amol has several publications, presentations and abstracts nationally and internationally, in well recognised journals, including review articles and book chapters.
