Work Placements
We are committed to giving both local students and family and friends of staff working for the Trust, the chance to develop their skills and experience in a healthcare setting. This kind of experience is invaluable and is the best way for young people to gain insight into the variety of careers available in the NHS. We strive to inspire passion in young people, directing them towards a career in the NHS and hopefully work for WWL NHS Trust in the future.
The Trust will make every effort to provide structure placements/programmes which will support an individual to find out about roles which may influence future education, career and employment choices.
The Trust offers observational placements working in conjunction with the 5 local further education/sixth form colleges in the Wigan Borough to provide their students with the opportunity to gain insight in how an acute hospital trust such as WWL operates.

Ministry of Defence - Employer Recognition Scheme
